EUDEC supports democratic education by offering …

  • Democratic schools …
    • networking opportunities
    • access to a pool of information/experience
    • help with finding staff members and students
    • promotional support
    • support with government authorities
    • the EUDEC diploma for helping graduates apply to jobs and universities
  • School founders (start-up groups)…
    • all of the above, plus
    • support in the approval process

We also…

  • organise annual conferences on democratic education
  • provide guidance for schools interested in incorporating more student decision-making and self-managed learning.
  • help families find democratic schools and founding groups.
  • provide information on democratic education for academics, families, students, NGOs, policy-makers, journalists etc.
  • actively network with decision-makers and other NGOs in Europe to promote democratic education

That’s already a lot, but there’s so much more to do!

  • There are still countries in Europe where democratic education is illegal. There are still schools fighting for approval. EUDEC may have put democratic education on the map, but we still have a long way to go. If we want a Europe in which every child has access to democratic education, we need to invest time and funds into:
    • public relations
    • European partnerships
    • an informative website
    • school support
    • teacher training programmes
    • and the list goes on and on.

EUDEC’s only funding source is its members. Please join (or renew your membership) to help us keep the ball rolling!
