HORIZON Europe MSCA-2024-SE-01-011 Staff exchanges –
November 2025 to November 2029
The I-CIVIC project establishes a multidisciplinary network of international experts to
explore and strengthen democratic engagement, civic participation, and digital literacy
across Europe. It responds to the growing challenges of democratic deficits and youth
disconnection by fostering collaboration between education, research, and community
sectors.
Through cross-sectoral staff exchanges and research, I-CIVIC will design scalable,
community-based pedagogical frameworks grounded in pedagogy, sociology,
psychology, political science, and digital literacy. The project will connect schools
with local institutions, including museums, libraries, cultural associations, and sports
clubs, to build resilient and participatory communities of learning.
Key Objectives:
● Understand and address the gaps in democratic education
● Develop innovative educational tools and frameworks
● Build inclusive and scalable practices
● Provide excellent training and supervision for researchers and educators
By bridging the divide between formal and informal education, I-CIVIC aims to foster
democratic resilience and a new culture of civic participation among Europe’s younger
generations.
