Charlie Moreno-Romero, EUDEC’s Research & Innovation Coordinator and a member of the Advocacy & Lobbying Working Group, has been invited by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) to participate as a speaker representing EUDEC at the sixth session of the Forum on Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law, taking place in Geneva on 16–17 November 2026.

The 2026 Forum focuses on:
“Education for civic participation: empowering future generations, fostering knowledge and critical thinking”
We have been invited to contribute to the session “Civic participation through education”, sharing our work and experience of our 18 years old Community.
For EUDEC, this is an opportunity to bring the experiences of democratic learning communities into an international discussion on education, human rights and civic participation.
Democratic Education places participation, self-determination and democratic decision-making at the heart of everyday learning and community life. The Forum provides a space to share how these principles and practices can contribute to meaningful civic participation
