The European Democratic Education Community is seeking to establish an Office Team starting mid June which will help professionalize our organization and help advance EUDEC’s goals of promoting and strengthening Democratic Education in Europe. The Office Team will consist of two people coordinating the diverse areas of our organization, mainly managing the operative business, maintaining an overview of memberships and financial status as well as applying for funding options. 

 

Tasks of the position “Office Manager” mainly but not restricted to:

  • Networking to further establish and enhance communication between relevant organizations
  • Maintenance of homepage of eudec.org and social media (Facebook, Instagram), keeping up with our communication platform Basecamp, maintain an updated EUDEC meetings and events calendar
  • Assisting the EUDEC Council and Committees with their enquiries and needs
  • Prepare general meetings, reports and presentations as assigned
  • External fundraising campaigns, application for funding options
  • Dealing with incoming mailing 
  • Assistance to the different circle coordinators / Oversight committee in administrative tasks 
  • Ensuring internal communication
  • Volunteer management
  • Maintain an updated EUDEC meetings and events calendar
  • Work closely with other office team members and EUDEC committees

 

Tasks of position “Membership & Finance Manager” mainly but not restricted to:

  • Help ensure that EUDEC administrative systems, processes and policies are in line with local (German) legislation: Tax, accounting and legal
  • Maintaining an overview about memberships
  • Maintaining overview about the financial situation, managing financial operations and coordinating between involved parts
  • Maintain and update databases: meetings records and minutes, newsletter archive agreements, membership lists, basecamp accounts, email addresses, mailing lists, subscription fees, monthly audits and annual financial statements
  • Managing voting processes e.g. OPA-Vote
  • Set up and maintain a system to store passwords for online services (Basecamp, website incl. email-addresses, etc) 
  • Organize a filing system for important and confidential EUDEC documents
  • Work closely with other office team members and EUDEC committees

 

Requirements for both positions:

  • Support Democratic Education, democratic structures and social justice
  • Have management experience
  • Have a critical as well as a problem-solving mindset
  • Have a gentle and patient yet determined attitude towards volunteer based work/co-workers
  • Can take good self-care and communicate clearly about needs
  • Fluent in English language (main working language of EUDEC)
  • Knowledge of EUDEC will be regarded as an asset

 

Position “Office Manager”

  • Likes to maintain high level of communication
  • Good organizational skills
  • Experience in fundraising
  • Affinity for social media and public relations

 

Position “Membership & Finance Manager”

  • Have experience/affinity for IT
  • Experience in membership managing
  • Basic knowledge of bookkeeping

  • 17 Euro hourly gross salary (on a mini job basis for German citizens, on freelance basis for non German citizens)
